Giving Thanks
Fall is now underway – sort of. Here on the normally Wet Coast, we are currently experiencing the driest and warmest fall on record. While I do enjoy being able to still wear skirts without stockings and shorts, I realize that it’s pretty clear that climate change is real and it is serious. The nice weather does bring a delicious bounty of fruit though and so thanks to my parents’ apple trees, I will be making apple sauce, apple cobbler and apple juice over the next week or two.
I just celebrated Thanksgiving with my family and I thought that I’d write about the things for which I am thankful in this blog. Yes, it’s been done and giving thanks may seem somewhat hackneyed but I think that it’s important to share in a public forum as this is and for me to remember what beautiful things we have. And so, I give thanks to whatever connects everything for my beautiful little family: my husband, our boys, our parents and my brothers. I give thanks that we have enough food to feed our little family and that we have shelter. I give thanks that I have a job that I love. I give thanks that my family members have our respective physical and mental health. I give thanks to my beloved family.
My website blog wouldn’t be complete without some gig news. I am very excited about the Laudate Singers upcoming gala fundraiser called a Night in Vienna. I’m having SO much fun with this program. I have a little bit of space left for new students so if you or any of your friends are interested in voice and/or beginner piano lessons, just send me an email or call me. I’m now taking Christmas bookings and those are starting to fill up. Ah, ’tis the season!
