In Springtime
May is upon us with absolutely beautiful weather. We are enjoying summer-like temperatures after at least three years of very wet springs.
The next seven days are going to be very busy with choral gigs a plenty. As I write this, I’m unwinding with a glass of red wine after a very productive Laudate rehearsal with Tangissimo. We will be performing “Voice of the Tango” on Sat., May 11th at 8:00 pm at St. Andrews United in North Vancouver. Then, on Weds., May 15th at 7:30 pm, I will be conducting my women’s choir, The Real Treble Makers with the Graham Bruce Elementary Choir in a program called “Oh Canada” featuring Canadian composers and folk songs. I will be putting the posters up for both gigs on the website in the next couple of days. The Graham Bruce Elementary Choir will also be performing at Collingwood Days at Collingwood Neighbourhood House on Thurs., May 23rd at noon. All in all, a busy month of music.
Also, on the teaching front, I am doing two short term sessions of voice lessons at Mt. Pleasant on Monday afternoons/evenings for May and June and then for the month of July. If you just want a few lessons and you live in the Mt. Pleasant neighbourhood, this may be the way to go for you. Register at www.vancouver.ca if you’re interested.
Hope to see you sometime this month.
